FAQs

What happens if no one donates?

To be honest, this is just something we are going to fund anyways regardless of if we get a single dime donated. On our own - we forecast we will have no issue providing to one family each Christmas with no outside donations. The dream however is to help out a few if we can.

How do you choose a family?

We are connected to a number of churches, police, and fire departments thanks to our day jobs. The sad fact is there’s no shortage of families in need. The pastors, police, and firefighters will be in contact with us as we near the Christmas season. We rely on them to find people who they believe would be a good fit for our program. So the idea would be one of those individuals would sponsor a family, tell us a little about them and maybe what they are into and how many are in the household. At that point these tickets get mixed up into a bowl and drawn the night of the tournament. Once selected we will build out a shopping list to collect appropriate games and number of controllers to suit the family's needs. The ultimate dream for us would be being able to empty that bowl every year, and with some help I think that goal is achievable.

How much of my donation actually goes to a kids Christmas?

All of it. If you donate - all of it goes to help a family. If you buy an item from the shop, the everything over cost goes into the piggy bank that we use for a kid’s Christmas. We eat the operational cost of the website and the various items like pizza and all that. This project is really just something we are joyful about. So aside from the transaction fees the credit card company charges, literally every dime just goes back to the kids.

What happens to donations made during the rest of the year?

It simply goes into the piggy bank for next year and remains untouched. If someone makes a large donation the day after Christmas, it simply stays in the account till next year and will bless the next family or maybe even several families.
